The American Bully dog is a new and upcoming breed.
Bred between the American Staffordshire Terrier and the American Pitbull Terrier, the Bully carries the best traits of both the Staffordshire and the American Pitbull.
The American Bully is extremely loving and loyal, despite its intimidating stature. The American Bully is a genuine pleasure to be around — naturally trusting of those who approach, the Bully does well meeting new people, and does even better with loads of attention and affection. The American Bully’s loyalty exceeds that of a normal dog — once they find their “pack”, they stick by them, no matter what.
The American Bully gets its sociable personality from the American Pitbull Terrier. The Bully is balanced in its nature, which means that it can spend equal time loving you and equal time sleeping or being alone.
They are naturally intelligent, and although they have an aspect of stubbornness from both the Pitbull Terrier and the Staffordshire, the Bully dog can be trained to be a surveillance dog.
The Bully breed is also tied to distant relatives of the American Bulldog and the Staffordshire bulldog, giving the dog it is broad shoulders and short legs. The American Bully stands shorter, around 18-22 inches, and a little heavier than an average dog, at 55-140 pounds.
The American Bully breed can get a bad rap for its ancestors, who are “known” to be aggressive (see some of our other articles debunking these myths) and for its build, but this breed is truly a beautiful mix that is an absolute necessity, whether you are living by yourself or with a family. The American Bully is guaranteed to be a loving and loyal companion, and that is a promise.
